Wants To Clothe The Roomba
World With Its Spring
RoomBud Collection
Lucky
the Ladybug and FooFoo
the Rabbit RoomBud Roomba
costumes hit the streets
to help rid the world
of naked Roombas Acton,
Mass., April 10, 2006
-- With over 1.5 million
iRobot® Roomba®
Vacuuming Robots sold,
the entrepreneurial kids
at myRoomBud will need
a little over 4,109 years
to clothe all the naked
Roombas in this world
but their goal is a noble
one. The myRoomBud Spring
Collection of RoomBud
costume covers for iRobot
Roomba Vacuuming Robots
hit the streets, or more
aptly hopped and scurried
the streets, touting a
feel good Spring theme.
Lucky the Ladybug
and FooFoo the Rabbit
RoomBud costumes were
shown off today to viewers
on the myRoomBud eBay
store. The
idea of clothing every
Roomba Vacuuming Robot
came after the myRoomBud
kids reread one of the
Harry Potter books. myRoomBud
co-founder Isabelle Smith
wishes to follow in the
footsteps of Hermione
Granger and her S.P.E.W.
(Society for the Promotion
of Elfish Welfare) organization.
"Roombas are
| | |
people too," declares
Isabelle, myRoomBud CEO
(Chief Eyeball Organizer).
The myRoomBud kids have
found that giving back
to their community and
Roomba-kind has helped
make the business venture
much more fulfilling and
fun. In February, myRoomBud
donated a specially made
Gates the Panther RoomBud
cover and a Roomba to
their elementary school
PTO auction to help raise
money for school items
including the new Gates
Elementary School playground."Our
first quarter sales exceeded
our expectations. We now
feel by setting a goal
of clothing every Roomba
in the world, we have
set the bar rather high,
but we never step away
from a challenge,"
said Tyler Smith, co-founder
of myRoomBud. "At
current sales rate, our
projections show that
it will take a little
over 4,000 years to rid
the world of naked Roombas,
but when word gets out
and caring Roomba owners
decide to pitch in, we
feel that we can cut that
number in half,"
added Niles Smith, another
co-founder of myRoomBud.
"So, remember, if
you don't dress up your
Roomba, it's just a naked
vacuum." You
